The development of gluten-free, high-fiber compound flour caters to individuals with gluten intolerance, such as those with celiac disease, allowing them to enjoy their food without guilt while promoting increased daily fiber intake. Two of the ready-to-eat (RTE) products have met the parameters required for the Healthier Choice Logo (HCL) certification from the Ministry of Health Malaysia. This research and development focuses on creating value-added products from UKM HC9, positioning us to locally produce and manufacture gluten-free, high-fiber products, whereas most current market offerings are imported.
2 of RTE(ready to eat) products were qualified for HCL under biscuit category that include this Gluten Free, High Fibre and Sugar Free Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Gluten free is healthy and good for those with gluten intolerance and avoiding intestine inflammation.
Good for digestion and also improve the daily intake of fiber.
Guilt free for individual with high blood sugar level to snack
Ingredients used were selected from low GI ingredient. Low GI is well known for health benefits eg improved in diabetic management, reduced risk of heart disease and stroke, improved energy level etc.
