With the availability of IoT technology, the utilization of smartphone for remote access and device control is made possible and becomes more common nowadays. One potential deployment of a smartphone control system is in a guard touring system (GTS). A conventional GTS lacks features such as real-time data upload, multiple functions on one device and is not competitively priced. We have conducted market validation with our clients and we plan to introduce new features for the current GTS. Currently, the client is facing difficulties to monitor and integrate all sites and sites simultaneously. Besides that, current GTS is time consuming and difficult to supervise. Lastly, for sites that have unstable internet connections, the patrolling cannot be conducted and the reporting cannot be stored into the cloud server. Therefore, our smart GTS has been introduced and the system consists of a mobile device with built-in Near Field Communication (NFC) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), an Android application for real-time interaction, a cloud database management system and NFC tags installed at designated checkpoints. The application will be designed to provide user-interface for audio, image capture, Global Positioning System (GPS) based wireless tracking of guard’s patrolling activities and reporting feature. Therefore, in this project, the development of a smart GTS that provides audio and image communication, cloud database management and Global Positioning System (GPS) technology is proposed. The smartphone will be used as the medium for collecting data while patrolling and reporting. A web browser will also be designed for easy and user-friendly access. The system performance will be investigated in terms of network delay and GPS accuracy to guarantee it is within acceptable time limit and distance limit. The value proposition is able to enhance premises safety and security, integrity reporting, reduce administration workload, and fast and precise response to alert.
The target market for GuardExpert Pro is premises that used a third-party security guard and had a lot of branches, premises that had their own security guard and had a lot of branches and security provider companies. We currently have 60 clients that have been subscribed to our system that consists of UMW, MMHE, UTM, Medini and many more. For go-to-market strategy, we are going with smart partnerships such as partnering with security provider companies, resellers and agents, and with government agencies such as MTDC, DRZ, CREST, CRADLE, and others. Meanwhile, for customer acquisition, it is directly to customers based on the identified target market such as private companies (e.g., UMW, TM, Sime Darby, etc.) as well as; the government agencies/GLCs such as DRZ and Medini Iskandar, IPTA/IPTS, Ports (Johor Port), commercial premises (MMHE Sdn Bhd and UMW Corporation Sdn Bhd), residential areas and others.
Checkpoint clocking, incident report, location and others are automatically track and show in web-dashboard
The clocking report cannot be manipulate, easy to check and can be easily retrieve if needed
If emergency happen such as the guard has been attacked, or fall down etc. The guard can press panic button on the handheld device. The notification alert will be notified in dashboard and Telegram Channel
Any incident report can be generated through digital and real-time through handheld and dashboard
