Weedy rice and resistance of weeds to commonly used herbicides in rice field is major problem in rice farming. By treating rice seeds with this product will increase the tolerance of the rice seedling to a herbicide called metolachlor, which is toxic to rice as well as weedy rice and other weeds in the plantation. This herbicide is not used in rice field due to its toxicity to rice crop. The use of this herbicide along with the seed treatment will increase the efficacy of weeds management for rice farmers.
Enable usage of rice-toxic herbicide metolachlor and acetochlor in rice crop by enhancing tolerance of rice crop to the herbicides.
Enable usage of new rice herbicides metolachlor and acetochlor to manage herbicide resistance development in commonly used rice herbicides.
Treated crops are more tolerant to stress such as drought and flooding.
Application method is easy and common in rice farming.
The cost of product is not expensive and affordable to farmers.
